The design process: Discovery → Wireframe → Visual Design → Prototype → Test → Iterate. Wireframing is the fast, cheap phase — no time is spent on visual details until the idea is validated. A hand-drawn sketch on paper is a perfectly valid wireframe.
A lo-fi prototype (simple boxes and text in Figma) is enough for user testing. A hi-fi prototype adds animations, real content, and pixel-perfect design. Invision, Figma, and Marvel are popular prototyping tools. The faster the Test → Iterate cycle, the better the final product.
