5G is the fifth-generation mobile network technology. Compared to 4G: 100× faster (1–10 Gbps), 10× lower latency (1ms), 100× more devices per km². eMBB (Enhanced Mobile Broadband), URLLC (Ultra-Reliable Low-Latency), mMTC (massive Machine-Type Communications) — three core use cases.
Millimeter wave (mmWave, 24–100 GHz) is very fast but has a short range and can't penetrate obstacles. Sub-6GHz offers wider coverage with speeds similar to 4G. C-band (3.5 GHz) strikes a balance. 5G's real revolution: mass IoT (one million devices per km²), autonomous vehicles (1ms latency is critical), AR/VR streaming, remote surgery (in medicine). Uzbekistan plans widespread 5G deployment during 2025–2026.
